UNODC (TOC Qualifier)
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) was established in 1997 to address the growing threat of illicit drugs, organised crime, terrorism, and corruption. It was formed through merging the United Nations Centre for International Crime Prevention and the United Nations International Drug Control Programme, establishing the UNODC in 1997. UNODC Southern Africa covers 11 countries in the region, using policy support, prevention, and international coordination to address crime and drug related issues. Delegates in UNODC will aim to tackle the growing issue that is the increase of drug trade, production, and trafficking in Sub-Saharan Africa.

ICJ
Beneath the crushing pressure of the high seas and the shifting ice of the Arctic, a new frontier of international law is being forged. As the world’s superpowers look toward the “common heritage of mankind” not as a sanctuary, but as a treasure trove of nickel, cobalt, and untapped territory, the International Court of Justice stands as the final line of defense against global instability. From the disputed ridges of the North Pole to the mineral-rich depths of the Clarion-Clipperton Zone, the decisions made in this chamber will determine whether the future of our oceans is defined by sustainable cooperation or a lawless scramble for resources.

Specialized Committees

STAR WARS
The fate of the Star Wars galaxy lies upon your hands…
In this fast-paced, action-packed committee, delegates will be simulating the Senate of the Galactic Republic. Set right before Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, this committee aims to address the pressing matter of the blockade of Naboo by the Trade Federation. Delegates will have to grapple with the rise of the Separatist movement within the Senate, managing contrasting ideas of peace and prosperity along with equality among all of the plants in the Galactic Republic. This committee will decide the level of corruption in this galactic democracy and will either be the spark or the extinguishing of intergalactic war.
BANANA WARS
It is August 16, 1927, and the streets of Central America and the Caribbean tremble under the weight of U.S. military boots and big money ambitions. Across the region, an empire of fruit has taken shape, fueled by the United Fruit Company, Standard Fruit, and clandestinely, the U.S. military. From Honduras to Haiti, from Colombia to Cuba, American gunboats cast long shadows over the tropics, ensuring that the wealth of the land flows northward, while those who toil beneath the scorching sun remain disenfranchised, exploited, and disposable. As resistance movements grow and economic tensions deepen, delegates must confront whether continued intervention preserves order or accelerates collapse.

Crisis Committees

LORAX
Let it grow, let it grow You can’t reap what you don’t sow…
The Lorax Crisis Committee immerses delegates into a world where environmental collapse collides with corporate power. Set midway through The Lorax, this crisis challenges delegates to navigate political corruption, unchecked industrial growth, and ecological disaster as the Truffula Forest nears extinction. Will you prioritize profit, power, or preservation? Every decision counts and the fate of the forest depends on you.
