Position Paper Policy
Papers
A position paper is an essay that overviews a country/character’s stance on the specific issues within your committee. It allows delegates to prepare for the conference by giving them the opportunity to research and develop policies and plans they can use during the conference.
Delegates are not required to submit a position paper to participate in the conference, but if you want to be eligible for awards they must submit a position paper before the conference. If delegates want feedback on how to write a position paper, it is highly recommended to submit one.
Delegates should aim to discuss a country/character’s position on all topics present in the background guide. For committees with multiple topics, delegates should write a single paper that covers all topics.
Formatting
Position papers should be 1-2 pages in length using a 11-point font. The page limit excludes citations/bibliography. Delegates will be required to cite all sources in a professional format, such as MLA or Chicago.
Submission
Delegates should submit their position papers to committees@ehmun.ca in a PDF or Google Doc format
